В нашій школі розроблена спеціальна програма, яка допомагає зануритись у вивчення української мови за підтримкою англійської мови. Кожен клас містить не більш ніж п’ятнадцять учнів та викладається двома вчителями українського походження з поглибленим знанням англійської мови. Малий показник співвідношення кількості учнів на одного вчителя допомагає отримати індивідуальну підтримку на постійній основі.
Учні навчаються не тільки вільно спілкуватися українською мовою, але й впевнено читати та писати нею. Наші уроки є предмтно-орієнтованими. Це означає, що учні зосереджуються на виконанні завдань пов’язаних із українською культурою з використанням української мови, як засобу для передання набутих знань.
Учні навчаються у веселому та безпечному середовище, в якому вони можуть вільно висловити свої думки, проявити власні здібності та особливості, де вони відчуватимуть себе успішними.
Учні також мають можливість дізнатися більше про різні регіони України за допомогою вивчення народних танців, ремесел та традиційних страв цих регіонів.
Наша школа з гордістю підтримує нових іммігрантів, всиновлених дітей та українських учнів, що перебувають у США за програмою обміну.
Welcome!
Our school is a Ukrainian immersion program with support in English. Each class has 2 teachers and less than 15 students who are native Ukrainian speakers as well as English speakers. The student to teacher ratio helps provide individualized assistance on a regular basis.
Students will not only learn conversational skills, but also how to read and write academically in Ukrainian. Our lessons are project based, which means that students are focused on completing culturally relevant assignments using Ukrainian as a means to convey learned knowledge.
Students learn in a fun and safe environment in which they are able to express themselves and flourish as individuals.
Students also enjoy learning about the different regions of Ukraine through traditional dance, crafts, and foods.
Our school is proud to support recent immigrants, adopted children, and exchange students from Ukraine.

Ridna Shkola is a Ukrainian language and cultural school that has been in Houston for more than 30 years. We are a non-denominational, non-profit school that is open to students of any age or ethnicity.
During the span of 1932-1933 (by different estimates) 3 to 7 million people perished from hunger. During the most brutal months people were dying:

HELP US TEACH OUR KIDS A LESSON IN HUMANITY
This year Ukraine marks 90th Anniversary of the start of one of the most brutal and yet, still fairly unknown tragedies of the Ukrainian nation - Holodomor.
Holodomor means 'death by starvation' in Ukrainian and refers to a man-made famine that was orchestrated by Joseph Stalin to eliminate a Ukrainian independence movement in the early 1930s. Grain was taken from regular, hard working people and sold to finance rapid Soviet industrialization.
Ridna Shkola Board and Staff felt that to really teach our children about the tragic genocide of their ancestors we must teach them kindness and care for their own neighbors, who may be hungry NOW, here in Houston.
And so we are happy to partner with the Houston Food Bank and launch:

During this month of Thanksgiving, while Ukraine is on the verge of freezing and (once again) starvation, as a result of non-stop shelling by russia, who is now holding the entire world hostage refusing to continue delivering Ukrainian grain to those in need, our kids and our community will showour gratitude and appreciating for those in need here in Houston!
We are forever humbled by the support we have received from our fellow Houstonians and it would be an honor for us to give some of it back!
